The Best Resources for Age Tech and Aging News and Insights

I love reading. I love writing. I love listening to podcasts and audiobooks. Of all the ways that exist in our world for consuming content and gaining new knowledge, reading and listening are at the top of my list. There’s something about reading someone’s thoughts, or listening to their voice as they speak them, that really resonates with me.

Many people have been asking me, how do I stay up-to-date with everything that goes on in the age-tech ecosystem and related industries, so I decided to compile a list of my favorite resources.

Newsletters I’m subscribed to (and actually read!)

Aging and Health Tech Watch

There are many reasons why Laurie Orlov’s (@AgingTech) blog belongs at the top of this list. Personally, I’ve been reading it regularly for years and it never fails to provide me with unique insights and with Orlov’s critical commentary on all things age tech.

Orlov is a tech industry veteran and former Forrester analyst. She’s a writer, speaker and elder care advocate who founded Aging and Health Technology Watch in 2009 as a means to provide market research and thought leadership about health and aging-related technologies and services that enable boomers and seniors to sustain and improve their quality of life.

MFA’s newsletter and the Living Longer Better Smarter podcast

Mary Furlong (@maryfurlong) is a powerhouse in this industry. Her conferences draw investors, entrepreneurs, care providers and others interested in longevity business and innovation.

Furlong is a leading authority on the longevity marketplace. She has guided the business development and marketing strategies of leading corporations, emerging companies, and nonprofit organizations for more than 30 years.

What many people don’t know is that prior to launching MFA, Furlong founded 2 nonprofit organizations (SeniorNet in 1986 and ThirdAge Media in 1996), raised $130 million and served more than 2 million adults aged 50 and older.

AGE-WELL newsletter

“We keep dancing around this issue, this truth: nursing homes are obsolete, they are past their prime, they need to be put out to pasture for something a lot better. The above quote was taken from one of Steve Moran’s recent articles. He is known as the outspoken, no-nonsense publisher of Senior Living Foresight.
